Although ADHD has been recognized for more than 100 years, many people think  of it as essentially a behavior problem in childhood. Yet many with ADHD suffer not from behavior problems so much but from ongoing problems with:

           Motivation, Organization & Planning,

Shifting Focus & Attention,

Sustaining Effort,

Managing Emotions,

& Working Memory.

Our clinic offers an updated & science-based perspective on this complex disorder, one that is based on current clinical and neuroscience research.

We present a new definition and model of ADHD as essentially a problem with Executive Functions  - the self-management system of the brain.

This system is developmental and mostly subconscious operations, which helps to describe how a person with ADHD can focus very well on  activities of strong interest, yet struggle with many other tasks of daily life.

ADHD often seems like a problem with Willpower...

BUT, it isn’t …It is a problem with brain chemistry & development.
